01 — The honest trade
Why is it free?
I’m a registered teacher building the strongest possible at-home DJ program for young beginners. Before I charge for it, I want to test every lesson with 30 real families.
This isn’t a giveaway. Your child gets the complete six-week program and my coaching. In return, you tell me honestly what clicked, what didn’t, and what would make it better.
02 — Who I’m looking for
Not the most experienced kid. The one who’ll turn up.
Age 10–14
This first test group is firmly for children aged 10 to 14.
Room for the calls
West Crew on Mondays; East Crew on Tuesdays. Group-call timing is confirmed with accepted families.
Their idea, too
Your child needs to be genuinely keen. You shouldn’t have to nag them into every lesson.
I’m not screening for talent. I’m screening for a kid who will turn up.

Buying used is completely fine. The goal is hands-on practice, not a shiny box. If ordering online, order by 29 September so setup isn’t a last-minute scramble.
07 — Mutual commitment
Three people. One simple agreement.
Your kid agrees
To press play, practise, join in and ask for help when they need it.
You agree
To help them arrive, make space for practice and send brief weekly feedback.
Tash agrees
To teach clearly, coach kindly and improve anything that isn’t landing.
If there’s no lesson activity or contact for two weeks, the place may be released to another family.

If it’s not landing by week two, stop. No awkward call. No guilt. Keep every download you already received.
08 — Who’s teaching

Tash is a registered WA teacher and professional DJ who has taught across Perth and the East Kimberley. She holds a current Working With Children Check, and CTRL DJ School is backed by a WA Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport grant.

10 — Common questions
The things parents ask before saying yes.
01 · Is it really free?
Yes. Thirty founding families pay $0. In return, parents give brief, honest weekly feedback so the program can be refined before its public launch.
02 · Does my child need musical experience?
No. The first lesson starts with the controller itself. Curiosity and willingness to practise matter more than music lessons.
03 · What if they lose interest?
Use the week-two out. If it isn’t landing, stop without awkwardness and keep the downloads. If a family is inactive for two weeks without contact, the place may be released.
04 · We’re interstate. Will the timing work?
The West Crew runs on Mondays and the East Crew on Tuesdays. Exact group-call times are confirmed with accepted families, with 1:1 windows designed around after-school hours.
05 · What if the controller doesn’t arrive in time?
Order by 29 September where possible. If delivery slips, tell Tash immediately. A hands-on controller is required, so another intake may be the better fit.
